Kids,

the phrases that we've discussed. :) Hope they are of help.

The police came.
The police arrived.
The arrival of the police shed some hope.

The man nodded approvingly and flashed a wide smile.

“Roger!” the policeman answered crisply.

"….. she had left the baby in the master bedroom,” one of them explained anxiously.

“Damn! Think! Think!” I mumbled to myself.

I was contemplating if I should do it.
I was in a dilemma.
I was in a crossroad.

I was happy.
I was very happy.
Happiness engulfed me.

The policeman was in his uniform.
The policeman was in their traditional blue uniform.

The police arrested the man.
The man was taken into police custody.

She was awaken by the choking air.

“What if he is inside?” I shuddered at the thought.

I realised the two men were housebreakers.
It occurred to me that the men were housebreakers.

To my horror, my handphone battery went flat.

"No!" I screamed at the top of my lungs.

The policeman gave chase and in a flash, the robber was in police custody.

Minutes passed and the police were nowhere in sight. “Oh man! Where might they be?” I paced to and fro impatiently.

After identifying myself as the caller, I began describing the man to the police.

“Freeze!” instructed the policeman.

We stood rooted to the ground.

Although the policeman was in his uniform, he was fast enough to catch up with the housebreaker.

The firemen tried to put off the fire but to no avail. It was too overwhelming.

After trying for hours, the firemen finally succeeded.

Without hesitation, I dialed for the police.

By now, a large fire had materialised.

The police interrogated the housebreakers.

She cried uncontrollably when the fireman explained that her flat was on fire.

When she was awaken by the choking air, she realised that her kitchen was in flames.

I summoned my courage and went after the housebreakers.

Smoke was seen seeping out through the gaps.

I saw the two men behaving suspiciously.

The pungent odour hit me like a bullet. "Oh my god!" I exclaimed the moment I regained my senses.

"Are you able to describe in detail how the escaped suspect looks like?" the burly policeman questioned.
"Er ... Yes, sir," the man replied meekly.
"Good!" the policeman answered, brimming with confidence.

I was not able to do anything else but to remind them to be strong.

"Don't you trust me? Duh!" I replied under my breath. "Don't you worry. They'll be here very soon," I continued.
